2014 Billy Bowlegs FestivalMay 27, 2014
Have you recently purchased a home in Fort Walton Beach? If so, get ready for one of the area’s best and longest running traditions – the Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival!
Now in its 59th year, the Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival is a fun, family-friendly pirate festival held each June. Come help defend the fare city as Billy and his band of pirates once again set their sights on our sandy white shore!
It has been Billy’s mission since 1953 to take control of the fair seas of Fort Walton Beach. But, thanks to the efforts of our locals and visitors, the pirate crew has never claimed the beaches of Okaloosa Island and Fort Walton Beach as their own.
Billy will try again beginning June 5, 2014. Line up along the streets of Eglin Parkway, for the Torchlight Parade. Watch as Billy parades through town declaring his quest and collect pirate booty as it is thrown from the ships and floats. And, that’s just the beginning of a weekend of fun!
On Friday, fireworks light up the sky at The Fort Walton Beach Landing at 9:30PM after an afternoon of live music, great food and festival fun. Head back to the landing on Saturday to help fight the pirates as before the festival closes out for another year. We hope to see you at The Fort Walton Beach Landing during the 2014 Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival!Â
