Home Buyer Questions – Yards and GardeningSeptember 3, 2014
Many first-time home buyers in the area move from condo rentals in Destin to a single-family home and have little background in yard maintenance. While the idea of a large, private yard with room to grow sounds great in theory, you should know what kind of care could potentially be involved.
Usually, the homeowner and the listing agent will be a good source to decipher this information. Likewise, the home inspector should be able to answer questions about prospective lawn care. Now that you know who to ask, it is important to know what to ask.
The typical questions that fall to homeowners and listing agents can include everything from what kind of trees and bushes have been planted and what sort of care do they require, to what chemicals and pesticides have been used previously? More specific questions can be directed to the home inspector. For instance, how currently planted things will affect the roof, foundation and sidewalk, or the current state of the drainage system in place.Â
